The SheRACES Trail Series is a series of trail running events designed to give women a chance to participate in trail running in an environment designed for us. Our flagship race is a 50km ultramarathon with no cut-offs, which gives women a chance to step up to this distance for the first time or compete for the podium! We welcome those running, run-walking or hiking the course. In 2025, the event took place in the Peak District, and in 2026, the event will be in Surrey. We hope to bring the series to many more locations in the future.

SheRACES has a series of detailed Race Guidelines that all races can access for free and apply to their events to make them more inclusive to women. We hope that all races implement these to give women start lines that have considered their needs. You can view the Race Guidelines here.

We have conducted detailed research into the need for women-only events. You can see this research here. The research showed that many women prefer female-only events, for reasons of safety, comfort and joy, as well as those who are unable to participate in mixed-sex events for personal reasons. The SheRACES Trail Series came out of this research to show how a women-only race could – and should – be done and to ensure that every woman has a start line they feel comfortable and welcomed on.

Yes. We aim for every woman to cross the finish line. We had a 100% completion rate in 2025 across both our 50km and 25km distances. As long as you are making meaningful progress along the course, we will support you to finish the race. We will only advise you to retire from the event if we have concerns for your health and safety.
